amaBhele Annual Prayer
Under the rule of iNkosi Mathandela it was decided that a Prayer Service would be held annually at Mqokolweni Great Place. This initiative hoped to uphold and revive the declaration and teaching on the covenant between AmaBhele and God.
iNkosi Mathandela wanted to share his vision that was adopted in a celebration at uMqwashini to rebuild the moral fibre and reverse the social decay of his people, ukuze iSizwe sithi, ‘Masibuyel’ embo’, okanye ‘Mazibuy’ emasisweni.
The month of September was chosen in line with the national heritage in order to renew and revive the AmaBhele heritage.
For each year, the Royal Chaplain chooses a theme.
The book of Joel 2 verses 26-27 formed the foundation of the September 2020 message. This passage resonated with AmaBhele as it is about restoration and Gods promise to have mercy to the people of Zion. God is reminding His people about the covenant He made with their forefathers, that He would never leave nor forsake them.
God Almighty is promising His people that He will repay them for the years that the locusts have eaten. They will have plenty to eat until they are full and praise the name of the Lord their God who had worked wonders for them, and never again will the people of God be shamed.
