Royal Protocol
- On arrival iNkosi must be met at the entrance by the main host, accompanied by two or more people.
- iNkosi is not touched or hugged.
- Everyone should be seated by the time iNkosi and his entourage are escorted to the meeting area. Everyone must stand up when iNkosi enters the vicinity.
- The Praise Singer announces the entry of iNkosi, his entourage, and the hosts. iNkosi walks in front bordered by his host and security.
The Praise Singer walks at least 1 metre ahead of iNkosi.
- iNkosi is the last to be ushered into the venue and is the first to leave.
- Walking about is not permitted when the Praise Singer recites.
- iNkosi sits on the right hand of the host.
- If iNkosi is traveling with Ndlunkulu, she sits next to him on his right.
- It is not permitted to refer to iNkosi by his first names.
- The wife of iNkosi is addressed as Ndlunkulu not wife.
- People sitting closer to iNkosi are not allowed to sit with their backs to him.
